Who’s in Your Five? Paid to Click that is.
Alright fine. I’ll officially call an end to the holiday season. Everyone can breath now and get ready for Valentines Day. Yep, all our Christmas decorations are packed and stored for another year. My seven year old son said “Wow, with all the Christmas stuff put away, the house looks a lot cleaner”. Hell, even my Holiday obsessed wife want’s to turn it down a notch next year ( it’s sad when it takes two weeks to take everything down ). Fine by me. I might even stop singing “It’s beginning to look a lot like HELL” or “Chipmunks Roasting on an Open Fire”. My feelings are often shared through my sense of humor.
Anyways!!
So here I am writing my third and final installment of “How the Dollar Turns”. In my first post, I talked about some of the people who have influenced me, those who I’ve befriended or who have just been super duper awesome. In post two I wrote a bit about the programs and opportunities I’ll focus on in the new year. So in this post I thought I’d spend a bit of time talking about Paid to Click ( PTC’s ) programs. Actually my top four with an honorable mention thrown in at the end for a total of five.
Paid To Click is an online business model that draws online traffic from people aiming to earn from home. Paid-To-Click, or simply PTC websites act as middlemen between advertisers and consumers; the advertiser pays for displaying ads on the PTC website, and a part of this payment goes to the viewer when he views the advertisement. wikipedia
No. 1 – ClixSense
I love the word “Sustainable”. When all is said and done, I believe ClixSense will still be thriving and paying it’s members for years to come. Although it’s Free to earn, the very affordable $10 per year upgrade is one of the best values in the industry. A fantastic affiliate program and an easy to advertise ( your other opps ) platform makes ClixSense my number one and the reason I upgraded for a second year.
No. 2 – Matrix Mails.
Ya know, I really wish I’d gone for the “Lifetime Gold” membership when I joined back in March 2009. You can bet when it comes time to renew my subscription, I’ll opt for the $60 gold lifetime membership. Matrix Mails has been kicking butt since 2002, and is a great place to convert your earnings to advertising. Of course you can also just simply cash out, but what fun would that be?
No. 3 – WordLinx
When a Paid to Click program has been around for over six years you know they are doing something right. WordLinx not only continues to provide a great PTC experience but always strives to give it’s members more benefits and improve month after month. This year we saw a new upgrade ( the $59 lifetime “Verified Plus” ) as well as a slew of additional changes that enhance both it’s members earnings potential while maintaining an awesome advertising venue. WordLinx just seems to get better and better.
No. 4 – NeoBux
I know most of you are wondering why NeoBux wasn’t at the top of my list at number one. Especially since I’ve earned more from NeoBux than any other opportunity this year. To be honest, it always concerns me when the daily ads come from the admin instead of people like me, the members who advertise. Obviously, the admin / owner knows what he’s doing and is one of the smartest in the industry. Still, I’ll keep NeoBux at number four this year, but probably spend more time promoting it than any other program. I’ll also spend less time messing around trying to manage rented referrals. I’m sure with a bit more effort and attention I can come up with a formula and strategy to maximize my rented referrals, but to be honest, I think the average person will end up losing money on rented referrals. I’ll stick with using half my rented earnings to manage that particular part of NeoBux and focus more on my direct referrals. It’s no secret that the referrals we rent are not real people, but bots. I’m not saying don’t rent, I’m just saying be careful and read the forum for different strategies.
No. 5 Link Grand
Link Grand is very new for me. I haven’t promoted yet, I haven’t cashed out and I’ve yet to use it for advertising. So why did it make the list of my top five PTC programs? Simple. It’s, um.. well “Simple”. Not a lot to think about here. No upgrades, no rented referrals or buying referrals to worry about. It’s just a very easy to manage program. Get paid $0.003 per ad viewed ( no more, no less ), earn 10% of your referrals ad purchases, and also 30% of your ref earnings. Cash out is $5 and you can even convert your earnings into ad credits ( which I love doing ). There, that’s it. Nothing to really think about. Keep It Simple Stupid. Obviously the money is in the referrals, I’ll run some initial ads this month and see if I can’t get a few dozen active members earning me a couple extra dollars a day.
… and that’s it guys. I hope everyone made it out of 2009 in one piece.
Phil ( philsfault ) Ames
On a final note. What else did I learn 2009. Well, I learned NOT to be a salesman and to only endorse products, services, and programs that I believe in and use. So you probably won’t see me pimping something just for a commission.
I’ve learned the power of branding and being a person first and an affiliate link second. Most of you know that I’m a very approachable kinda guy. I spend a lot of time replying to emails and answering questions. I put my picture and name on everything I endorse. I’m becoming well known ( at least my thumb is ) and the last thing I want to be known for, is the guy who hawked a crappy program that went belly up a couple months later. Although, I’ve done exactly that in the past, I’ve learned my lesson’s and am better now. Honestly =P

Great post Phil!
I liked your list a lot and totally agree with it. However I’ve stopped using Neobux though. Apparently I forgot to log into my account for a while and they deleted it, even though I had money and referrals in it. This is my own fault, but I think it’s a shady policy. Here’s why. Sites like clixsense and wordlinx send out an email warning when they see a lack of activity on your account. Seems to me Neobux could implement the same type of deal. Just my two cents. But you can definitely make money with it. Just don’t forget to log in once awhile. lol
I look forward to the new Phil in 2010 that only recommends and discusses companies and products that he believes in. Here’s to your best year!
Always a pleasure Eddy.
Yeah, NeoBux is a program that you need to log in to and click everyday. I agree that you should be given fair warning before your account is dropped. Let’s face it, not everyone is going to read the forum for this information. Another reason why Neo only made my #4.
Now about that little something something you’ve been working on us =P.
Great post Phil and it doesn’t suprise me one bit that you now regret not going with the life time gold upgrade at Matrix Mails. Truth be told there is not many sites that I purchase any type of upgrade but MatrixMails is one of the few and I have well and truly got my money back from it and then some.
For anyone that is reading this post I highly recommend Matrix and think if nothing else, sign up and join the site, it is free to join and then have a look around and see what you think.
@Australian Survey Sites
always awesome of you to pop in and comment Adam.
Although you must admit your a bit biased since I am signed up under you in Matrix =P. Look forward to that extra commission coming your way in February.
ya know, we really need to talk more.
