Splash Pages, Poop, and Walking the Walk

My daughter Kalynn

So I'm not a hair stylist

My three year old daughter ( to the left ) Kalynn is pretty funny. She finds the simplest things enjoyable. Like helping me empty the dishwasher, putting laundry away ( although she sucks at folding cloths ), and basically following me around most of the day. Doing chores with daddy ( Me ) to her, is as much fun as making a mess. I think she just see’s it as spending time together. Throw in some reading and a bit of “Clifford” and our day goes by pretty fast. These daily interactions not only provide quality time between my daughter and I, but also helps her grow and learn. Now if she can just learn to fold cloths.

This is why I strive to be successful online! I enjoy hanging with my kids, watching them grow and being witness to such things as the first poop in the potty ( anyone want a picture? :) ). To non parents, poop and potty training is just plain gross, but all you parents out there know damn well that these events are reasons to celebrate! Fruit Snacks for Everyone!

Moving on to today’s post.

In my last post I gave a video tutorial on how to “Make and Use Simple Splash Pages“. My goal was to introduce you to splash pages and traffic exchanges. Show you some simple examples and give you another resource. Although I received quite a few awesome emails, Big E at Work at Home No Scams ( sort of my mentor ) was quick to not only praise me, but also tell me that I FAILED at the same time.

Where did I fail? Well, I didn’t take the time to test and show results. When putting the last post together, my goal, like I said, was to introduce you to Splash Page Maker and not necessarily show results. Since Eddy called me on this. I felt obligated to not only talk the talk but also walk the walk ( err do some testing on my own ).

I’ve made it very clear that I’m an advocate for traffic exchanges, especially Traffic Splash, but out of my 174 Traffic Splash referrals, only about ten have upgraded and / or are active. This kind of bugs me, and tells me that simply posting affiliate links and recommending a program does not do much for the people who I bring in. Whether it’s Traffic Splash, Splash Page Maker
, ClixSense, or whatever. It basically means that I’ve spent a lot of time ( and $$ ) for little or nothing. Seriously, what good is a referral if they are just a number I can brag about?

So for the last two weeks I’ve devoted all my Traffic Splash time and ClixSense promotions to testing splash pages for results. I used the final Splash Page I made in the last post and made a couple others as well. I also threw the normal ClixSense affiliate page in the mix. Once again, “walking the walk”. If I’m going to tell you that Splash Pages work better than normal Affiliate pages, I needed to be fair and treat all promotional pages equally. So that’s what I did. Although, the results were not over whelming, they are honest and pretty much accurate.

So in this video I’m going to show you not only my results, but also the new pages I created and used. Then for all you “non-html” wizards, the second video will show you how to take the basic page we created in the last post and beef it up even further using an HTML Editor.

In Video Two we are going to use Online-HTML-Editor.Org to enhance our splash page that we made in the last post. This is really great for those who are not familiar with basic and intermediate HTML.

So there ya go! I’m going to do some testing on the two pages in the first video and the one that get’s the better results ( hopefully sign ups ), will get it’s very own twenty page spot ( or 6000 views for another two weeks on Traffic Splash ).

Have a great day everyone and don’t forget to…

Get Addicted to the Joust

May 22nd, 2009

Okay, right off the bat, let me just tell you that I’m really not into role playing, fantasy, D&D, or W.O.W… the main reason, is that I know that if I started playing online games my kids might not ever see their father again. “Sorry Kalynn, Dad can’t read to you tonight, he’s trying to defeat Gargamel”..oh wait, that was the smurfs

Anyways, I would just get way to addicted if I started playing W.O.W or whatever. So I’ll restrain myself for now and wait until the kids are in college and the wife dumps me ( I’ll be 60 then, should be okay at that point ).

So where am I going with this post? Well, I got another payment from one of my favorite Traffic Exchanges today, and it reminded me that I’ve been putting off writing about Royal Surf.

I know it’s only $21, but it’s just one of many PayPal payments I’ve enjoyed from Royal Surf. Normally, Robert Kelly ( the owner ) takes about three to four days after a payout request is made to pay me. This commission got to me in less that 48 hours. Thanks Robert!!

Royal Surf is a Traffic Exchange that has a fun little twist to it. Every fifteen pages surfed gives you an opportunity to play the joust game. You basically move one space at a time until you get to the bottom of the screen and battle the Dragon, Dark Lord, Witches or whoever the opponent is that game. Along the way you find extra surf credits, magic items etc…

If your not familiar with Traffic Exchanges or Manual Surfs. What they are, are outstanding resources for web traffic to your blog, website or affiliate link. Plus, you can earn some pretty swell commissions ( and extra credits ) from referral upgrades and purchases. Royal Surf pays up to 75% commissions.

Now here’s a quick note about what to expect from TE’s. Everyone and their hamster are using the same Referral Links ( URL ). So don’t expect every hit to your page to be a sale or sign up. Traffic Exchanges are a tremendous resource for web traffic, commissions and in the case of Royal Surf tons of dorky FUN. Don’t get discouraged if one thousand hits to your website produces only one new referral, or even none. Spend some time creating splash pages. Standing out with something different will greatly increase your results. I personally love Splash Page Maker, you can use whatever you want.

Okay, that’s it. Now get your butts over to Royal Surf and start surfing.

I received quite a few emails and messages from yesterdays post about creating screen shots. ALL POSITIVE!! Thanks guys, you really made my day!
