Paying Myself every Week

My son Huston holding $1000

There’s no doubt that I can be a bit scatter brained when it comes to promoting for referrals and using the money I earn wisely. Usually, I move money that I receive into advertising as fast as I get it and keep my subscriptions and upgrades at a manageable level ( I’ve gotten better at this ). When I need to use money for personal use, I simply cut my advertising for that week and use my PayPal business debit card….love my PP debit card!! The problem with this is that I don’t have a clear picture of my online earnings growth, and I’m not paying myself on a regular basis. So I’m going to change that starting this week.

My wife who is not only a teacher but one fantastic Mary Kay consultant works on a 60 / 40 plan. Meaning, 60% of what she makes in her Mary Kay business goes back into her business and 40% goes to her ( err us ). She’s able to maintain her inventory while enjoying the fruits of her labor $$$. So I want to follow that plan and discipline myself to pay “Me” every Friday and then base my ad and upgrade budget on the previous weeks earnings. Should allow me to focus a bit more on better ad campaigns and smarter spending. Plus I should be able to construct some better blog posts with the hindsight of knowing what I want to spend money on and where I what to spend it at.

Example

By this Friday I know I’m going to receive $149 in estimated payments to my PayPal account. This number really shouldn’t go down but could go up based on a few factors; upgrades from my referrals, higher than expected referral activity, or winning a cash prize. Let’s just assume that everyone’s lazy this week and nothing else happens, I’m going to have $149 in my PayPal account by Friday. Based on the 60 / 40 plan I’m going to transfer $59.60 ( Pay Day ) to my bank account and have $89.40 for growing my business. Of that $89.40 I know that $38 is coming up for a couple subscriptions. Twenty Five of that is for my WordLinx Pro upgrade where I get additional ad credits ( visitors ). The other $13 is for a different program I’m playing with. Anyways, I’ll have $51 left over for advertising money next week that I can count on and plan for. The week after will be better because I get a few payments a couple days later on the 15th and if I focus on placing better ads, writing more posts for this blog, and completing a survey or two ( or one a day!! ), I will increase my next payday even more, as well as my working capital for building my business ( making money Damn It!! ).

Anyways, of that remaining $51 I know I want to promote this blog first. So I’m going to plan on using $32 as my blog ad budget for next week. The other $19 I’m still not sure of. There are several programs I really want to keep promoting and a couple others that I’d like to build larger downline’s in. So I’ll get back to you on that. In either case the goal is to increase my earnings week after week and of course watch my Pay Days consistently grow.

The hard part for me is going to be seeing money in my PayPal account and wanting to immediately spend it on an advertisement for whatever I want to promote. I know this is what I would normally encourage, but I seriously want to discipline myself a bit more and focus on increasing my earnings while paying myself weekly. This could be fun and frustrating at the same time. Getting a clearer picture of my growth and focusing on consistently moving in the right direction is the goal. Might even be an eye opener to start graphing my results as well.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

I got the inside scoop on something exciting coming to Instant Cash Sweepstakes soon. Since David used the word “Secret” I’m going to assume he doesn’t want me to spill the beans just yet. Hopefully I’ll get to be the first to announce it and give you all ( y’all ) a head start on building your ICS downlines. I think it’s huge news but you’ll just have to wait. If you didn’t read my last post, give it a look when you get the chance.“Instant Cash SweepStakes .. two month Update.

    Hey Phil,

    Decided to swing by to check out your neck of the web. lol

    Enjoyed the post! The best part is the pic of Huston holding all the “paypah” lol.

    I love how you goal-set, plan, and discipline yourself which helps you to attain your weekly payments. Outstanding! 3 very important areas that need improvement in my game.

    Thanks for the post! I’m sure I’ll swing by again.

    @Lynne Sherman

    Thanks for the comment Lynn. Sorry for the late reply.

    Well for the most part I followed my plan. Deviated a couple times when I found myself short on spending cash and used my paypal debit card. Still, I’m on track for the most part.

    Thanks again for chiming in.

    @Callie

    Thanks for stopping by Callie!

    Discipline is still something I’m working on. At least this week I wasn’t in a hurry to throw money around as soon as it hit my paypal.

    Oh and the money my son is holding is the $1000 I made from reluctantly selling my drum set. He actually thought it was his, that’s why he was all smiles.

    I’m jealous of all your consistent earnings! I wish I made that much money so I could advertise and use it to double and triple my earnings.

    Hi Alexander,

    Sorry for the late Reply. Being consistent is the key. Focusing on a few reliable programs and learning to build downlines in those is important. Using the earnings generated from your referrals efforts as well as yours to always move in the right direction via advertising and upgrades.

    I’m working on a post that should explain this a bit more.

    Thanks and sorry once again for the late reply.

    Hey old buddy, maybe the Reds and Giants, we still play the Padres three more games. Glad to see your doing well! I too have cut out anything that is not making me money, and thinking before I run ads. Talk to you soon, Brent

    Hey Brent,

    Yeah, I’m really enjoying what’s going on in the NL this year. If the Padres can have one more big losing streak before the end of the year, then yes.. could be a Reds / Giants series in our future. Of course Colorado is creeping up fast which is making me nervous. Tell ya what. You guys sweep the Padres and we’ll sweep Colorado, and we’ll see you in the playoffs.
