One Year with Traffic Splash
Okay, so a couple years ago I was a pretty big guy. I worked out at Worlds Gym and had a pretty decent routine going. “Worlds” had child care for my kids, all the machines, heavy dumbbells and barbells that I liked. Then one day. Actually it wasn’t “One Day”, it was over the course of a couple months. Things started to change. The child care ended, renovation crews started taking over, and the “Please Pardon Our Dust” notices became an annoying part of my workout. Not a problem, I was in-visioning a bigger, better and more bad ass gym. Boy was I wrong. My gym turned into a senior center. Umm, I mean, my gym turned into “Planet Fitness”. A judgment free zone where I wasn’t a loud to grunt, exert too much energy, or accidentally drop an 80lb dumbbell. All my machines, heavy dumbbells, barbells and **gasp**, bench’s were gone. No squat racks or “hammer strength” machines. Just rows of cookie cutter wuss type exercise contraptions, lots of treadmills, and a big notice on the wall that more or less said that: BodyBuilder Type Folks weren’t allowed.
So I quit that day and joined a private gym where cursing and grunting and big water bottles were accepted. I was happy again, although I missed what I had at Worlds Gym.
Anyways, to make a long story longer. I quit working out a few months ago ( for various reasons ) and have since removed that enormous chip from my shoulder and joined “Planet Fitness” this week. I’m still not happy with the changes and I’ll always miss what was, but honestly, it was time to get myself back in the gym. Even if it means I won’t have all the equipment and free vocal range ( One more Rep! You did better Last time! Don’t stop now!!! ) that I once had when I was part of a real gym. R.I.P. Worlds Gym as I knew you.
Lets face it, I’m getting older and I’ll probably never bench press 275 again. So if the need to grunt and drop dumbbells anytime soon comes up then I’ll move on. In the meantime, getting back to half of my studly ( whatever ) self is exciting and it’s nice to see a lot of my fellow gym rats again.
On to today’s post =P
I wrote a similar post early last year where I talked about my early results with Traffic Splash. What I wanted to do in this post is reveal where my 178 Traffic Splash referrals came from and talk a bit about traffic exchanges ( just a bit ). Since the number one reason why most of us fail at affiliate marketing is because we can’t bring in referrals to build our down lines and / or earn us commissions, I thought I’d share, once again, and use Traffic Splash as my example.
Forty Five ( 45 ) Referrals came from WordLinx. Early on I probably spent too much of my own money to advertise on WordLinx, but when I look at the extra credits and commissions I received this year, I’m pretty happy. WordLinx is an awesome place to advertise whatever your promoting, just be careful and set an ad budget if you must spend money on. I also don’t cash out anymore, I convert my earnings to advertise other opportunities, this blog, and umm, yeah Traffic Splash as well.
Twenty Two ( 22 ) Referrals ended up in my Traffic Splash downline via ClixSense. ClixSense is by far one of my favorite programs and a fantastic place to earn and advertise. I mix converting my earnings to ad credits with a bit of real cash for my promotional needs.
Fifty Five ( 55 ) Referrals for being a Pro Member on Traffic Splash. Although I’ve only seen a few random referrals in the last couple months. I was used to seeing new team members added to my account every week. I think a lot had to do with being a more active promoter at the time, I vaguely remember a couple contests a few months ago. Regardless, I think you should look at this number as a best case scenario.
Hits4Pay via Rent-a-List ( 17 ). Oh gosh, I forget what I spent on this ad for Traffic Splash. I remember being a bit upset by this number, since advertising on Hits4Pay ( Rent-a-List ) has always produced amazing results for me. Seventeen referrals might sound like good results for a one time ad, but really I’ve done better with other programs like ClixSense and NeoBux ( can anyone say 10% response? )
This Blog of Course ( 20 ). As I push forward into my second year with “You Will Not get Rich from this Blog”, things just keep getting better and better. I continue to improve, learn and although I have moments when I don’t write for awhile. When I do I’m noticing that more and more of you are paying attention. So THANKS!!
So where did the other 19 Traffic Splash referrals come from? Well instead of listing ten more sites and making this post longer than it needs to be. Lets just say that I throw banners and links up in all sorts of places; safelists, other PTC’s, Traffic Exchanges.. blah blah blah.
Now lets look at what this all means.

In one year I’ve pulled in some commissions, my credits earned per day fluctuate around 100, but most importantly I’ve learned that Traffic Exchanges are more than just a way to earn traffic. Traffic Exchanges are a huge community and a fantastic way to meet new people, study what others are doing and how they are doing it. Traffic Splash will remain my number one Traffic Exchange this year for a lot of different reasons. The owner Paul Kinder is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet, he sets the bar when it comes to daily rewards and contests, and of course as I always say ( and mean it!! ) Nobody Pays Faster than Paul!
Now a little note about traffic exchanges. DON’T SUBMIT YOUR USUAL AFFILIATE LINKS!! They simply wont work. Creating your own splash pages is your key to success. If your not getting the results that you hope for.. CHANGE AND KEEP TRYING.
I’m always tweaking and playing around with different Splash Page ideas. I give them a fair run ( usually a couple thousand views ) and then tweak ‘em some more. Keep it simple and don’t write long sales pages ( capture pages ) and surf ‘em on Traffic Exchanges. Few people surfing exchanges care about what you have to offer, so you have to grab their attention with a short and to the point splash page.
Check out my post: “How to Create and use Simple Splash Pages”
“My Latest Splash Page for this blog”
That’s all for me today. Keep in mind that although this post is about my results on Traffic Splash, I use the above programs to promote all my favorite programs.

P.S. Lynn reminded me that I’m currently ranked No. 6 out of 121 awesome blogs over at
Traffic Taxis. I told Lynn that I’d be at No.1 in six months. So hook a blogger up and cruise on over and move me up the ranks. Oh and the owner of
Traffic Taxis, David Foley, he’s a pretty crazy guy ( I’m just saying ).
Going to bed now. Night all!

Hello Phil,
I always pop over here and see what you are up to know! LOL!
Regards,
Catherine.
How awesome indeed. Traffic Splash is by far the awesomest. I don’t have anywhere near the ace results you have had the past year but then I haven’t directly promoted it the way you have. Your results are fabulous, Phil, awesome.
Great post as always. Sorry about your gym issues. :(
@Miss Money Hunter
Thanks Lynn! You just reminded me that I need to make it a priority to plug TrafficproX for you. I can’t promise 178 new members but you never know.
Yeah, when Worlds Gym switched over to Planet ( senior center ) Fitness I was pretty pissed. I’m over it now, time to get back to being all buff and stuff.
@Catherine
Thanks Cat! Kinda gives you an idea of how I brought in those initial MIB referrals. Didn’t really spend a lot of money, just made it a daily routine of keeping my ads in more places than Traffic Exchanges.
Once again, thanks for popping in.
Nice going! Traffic-splash is one of the harder exchanges to bring in new members as it is so well known and growing so fast. But with that said you did a great job in bringing in fresh members and earning a pretty decent paycheck for it. Hats off to you sir nicely done.
@Sean Supplee
Thanks for chiming in Sean!
Honestly I always feel I could do better. Since I joined Traffic Splash back in February I’m seen TS bring in 20,000 new members. So there is always opportunity seekers out there that haven’t heard of our favorite and most popular programs. It helps to step away from the normal crowd and promote in different venues.
Finally someone who’s real and not full of well you know, thanks for the blog, you are real and I like that. Keep on doing what you do and stay true.
Hey there Phil, I’m enjoying the blog. I’ve have, of course, seen it in quite a few places, but I am here today because of your Matrixmails ad. Seeing writing about Neo didn’t hurt either. Always looking for tips for that site. What a pain it is to get directs when everywhere you look there is a Neo banner or splash, or… Thought you might like to know the Matrix ad got you a reader. You can’t beat thirty second timers for getting results. I need to listen to myself on that one. I’m terrible about going with more hits versus longer counters. Maybe now that I have typed it, I will internalize it and put it into practice. We’ll see, I tend to put my hand on the proverbial stove quite a few times before I learn.
Well, now that I have rambled–I am a verbal hobo–I will (try to) get to the point. What was my point? Um, oh yeah, it was Traffic Splash. I dig it and all, well almost all, of its partners. I have, however, been bad about using it lately, and want to thank you for putting it back on my brain. The reason I haven’t been using Traffic Splash lately has nothing to do with me not liking it, but rather the exact opposite. I became addicted to it and the…can’t think of the exact term they use at the moment…bonus surfs with other exhanges like FET, ILH, etc. I was spending so much time surfing I started to neglect actually clicking ads for cash, going outside, sleeping…you get the gist. I had to get away from it for awhile, and I actually kind of got away from the online cash scene period for a few months. I really have to watch myself because it is so easy to get addicted and forget life completely. As I am a musician, my time is pretty well my time and thus I have to be careful or I neglect responsibility and compose nothing, cease to study theory, and, as also a fan of Christ, stop spending time studying the Word. In true banana fashion, I’ve once again done a fairly good job of spewing more than is necessary to get my point(do I even really have one?) across. Si, Traffic Splash es bueno.
Will be keeping up with your blog. I enjoy your candor as well as your humor and the glimpses into your life. It is refreshing to come across a blog that is not just blandly pushing sites or, worse yet, just pasting banner links all over the page, but paints a portrait of the author, gives useful tips, and helps readers get referrals, too. To give you an idea of your sucess in “showing yourself” to the reader, I have only read down to this post and I feel as though I know you somewhat. Kudos. I will hop over to Traffic Taxis–haven’t been there in awhile either–and try to help bump your site up.
Shalom,
thebananarepublican (no, I am not a republican–or any party at that–nor do I wear banana republic) I just can’t shut up. jeez.
Awesome!!! You get the “Comment of the Day” honors. I wish I had a prize for you.
Honestly though, thank you so much for commenting and for digging what I do. You really should start a blog and learn that having a lot to say has a place in this online world. In fact here’s the name of your new blog; “BANANA SAYS WHAT? ..Daily Affiliate Rant and Musings”
or something like that. I really appreciate and look forward to your future comments.
Thanks for livening up this blog just a bit more.
Phil
I think Traffic Exchange surfers can be lumped in with the World of WarCraft folks of the world
