Another NeoBux Update ( I know I know, Again! )

February 24th, 2010

I swear I have way more to talk about and share than just ClixSense and NeoBux, but they have both been hot topics the last couple weeks. So Yeah, this wasn’t the post I intended to write but, here ya go..

So it’s at the point in the night where I know I’m not going to be very productive. After spending a couple hours replying to emails, comments and reading other bloggers ramblings ( BoneHead ), I’m tired, but feeling the need to quickly put something together before bed.

Whenever I write a post about NeoBux, whether it’s the main topic or just a casual mention, the majority of the emails or comments I receive basically express the same thoughts.

NeoBux is Great but I need a strategy for renting referrals.”

“It’s impossible to pick up referrals because everyone and their dog is advertising it.”

My reply to the rental thang is always; “Try not to use much of your own money when playing with rentals” and “Use your earnings to manage you rentals instead.” Honestly, I can’t endorse any strategy other than that, so… um, yeah. Good luck.

As far as picking up new direct referrals for NeoBux, or any popular program for that matter. Remember that everyday, thousands of people like you and I hit the internet looking for ways to supplement their income, and make money. I’m only assuming. So although a lot of the usual crowd and veterans have probably already joined ( whats hot ), theirs always a “Hot” group of new folks ready to join your NeoBux downline, or whatever your promoting. Getting frustrated and feeling like we’re wasting your time is natural. So don’t feel like your alone. Try new things and learn from others ( wink wink ). Or just give up and find a new hobby. I’ve heard Solitaire is a great way to pass the time.

Anyways, I always have that itch to spend money on advertising but I’ve learned to control what I spend, and use mostly (mostly) my earnings from other programs. Like on Sunday when I spent $24 on an ad promoting NeoBux on ClixSense. I re-ran my previous ad that I talked about in the last post, and just to illustrate my point that I mentioned above, I managed to wrangle up 26 new referrals.

Now I usually don’t advertise on Sundays. It’s not a religious thing, it’s just that a lot of times my ads won’t actually post until Monday. I hate that because then I’m then lumped in with everyone else’s ads and I feel like I don’t have the full attention of the clicker ( potential new referral ). ClixSense has been approving ads more frequently and several times a day on Sunday. So I went with advertising on Sunday and it payed off. Yay Me!!

Going to bed now, not even going to check stats.

Night all

Over $1000 Earned at NeoBux

February 18th, 2010

First and Foremost, I want to thank everyone for chiming in on my little “poll” last week. The amount of emails I received were greater than the actual number of votes. So really I was a bit bummed that more of you didn’t participate in the poll. Still my ego was stoked and I loved and appreciated all the kind words, encouragement and Kudos. Thank you so much, you’re all getting Christmas Cards this year…. not really.

Sometime last week I hit the $1000 earned mark over at NeoBux.
Of that, I directly cashed out over $750 and the rest I used to manage my rental account over the year. Like I’ve said in many a post and ad, “Use your earnings to play with rentals, not your own money”. I’ve rented hundreds in my fourteen months with NeoBux, and have tried several strategies ( sorta ). My latest attempt has actually been working pretty decent for me. I’ve upped the anti to 80% of my daily rental earnings. Even though I haven’t been all that consistent with this, I’m thinking a 20% return isn’t such a bad thing. Still. I really don’t think I have the energy to try to manage a couple hundred rentals and will instead stick mostly with “Direct Referrals”. At least that way I know I’m dealing with real people, whether they click everyday or not. The debate over whether the referrals we rent are “bots” or “real people” or a mixture of both, continues. You know my feelings on this…

Speaking of “Direct Referrals”, or people I’ve personally introduced to NeoBux. I used last weeks ClixSense earnings ( a bit over $12.00 ) to place another ad for NeoBux. I used my old standby capture page to bring in five new referrals. Not bad, but out of 1000 views, that’s only a 1/2 percent return. I would have been happier with at least ten new refs, but with two of the five clicking everyday ( so far ) I’m fine with that. I’m not particularly proud or happy with that page or video. The video was made months ago and the page, to me looks generic and “UN-fun” as well as “UN-branded”. Although it seems to be working for me, I can definitely do better. I’ve got a couple ideas, but you’ll just have to wait. Actually, lets make the next post about the various pages, banners and such that I’ve used to brand myself and promote this blog and “ME!!” me me me

As mentioned in the opening paragraph, I received a ton of emails last week. I’m not going to give an exact count, but it was somewhere between thirty and ten million ( closer to thirty actually ). I do a pretty good job at replying to my emails. I’m a pretty friendly kinda guy, but have this horrible habit of being a bit wordy sometimes. Often, I’ll make personalized videos for some of you who need a visual. For those of you who haven’t gotten that second ( or fourth ) reply… don’t stress, I’m playing catch up. I really need to create a new mail folder titled “Replies and Stuff”. That way I’m not forgetting you, or your email isn’t getting accidentally deleted, or getting lost amongst the shit loads of email I get daily.

I tell you.. when I pass $200 a day in earnings I’m going to outsource for someone to read and answer my email for me.

Actually, I’m so not going to do that. I love answering emails and it would be weird and very impersonal of me to shuffle you off to someone else. So lets just forget I typed that.

Annyyyways… One particular person stood out for me this week. Adam F. is a friendly hard working guy that I’ve had the privilege of corresponding with over the last couple months. He’s turned up in a few of my downlines and I admire him for his continued motivation and patients in this online money making circus. Keep it up Adam!! I’ll get to your last email sometime this year ( possibly sooner ).

That’s all for me tonight. Thanks again for all the love and stuff.

**most of the NeoBux links in this post are Adams. Just my way of saying thanks for working hard and staying motivated.

Who’s in Your Five? Paid to Click that is.

January 13th, 2010

Alright fine. I’ll officially call an end to the holiday season. Everyone can breath now and get ready for Valentines Day. Yep, all our Christmas decorations are packed and stored for another year. My seven year old son said “Wow, with all the Christmas stuff put away, the house looks a lot cleaner”. Hell, even my Holiday obsessed wife want’s to turn it down a notch next year ( it’s sad when it takes two weeks to take everything down ). Fine by me. I might even stop singing “It’s beginning to look a lot like HELL” or “Chipmunks Roasting on an Open Fire”. My feelings are often shared through my sense of humor.

Anyways!!

So here I am writing my third and final installment of “How the Dollar Turns”. In my first post, I talked about some of the people who have influenced me, those who I’ve befriended or who have just been super duper awesome. In post two I wrote a bit about the programs and opportunities I’ll focus on in the new year. So in this post I thought I’d spend a bit of time talking about Paid to Click ( PTC’s ) programs. Actually my top four with an honorable mention thrown in at the end for a total of five.

Paid To Click is an online business model that draws online traffic from people aiming to earn from home. Paid-To-Click, or simply PTC websites act as middlemen between advertisers and consumers; the advertiser pays for displaying ads on the PTC website, and a part of this payment goes to the viewer when he views the advertisement. wikipedia

No. 1 – ClixSense

I love the word “Sustainable”. When all is said and done, I believe ClixSense will still be thriving and paying it’s members for years to come. Although it’s Free to earn, the very affordable $10 per year upgrade is one of the best values in the industry. A fantastic affiliate program and an easy to advertise ( your other opps ) platform makes ClixSense my number one and the reason I upgraded for a second year.

No. 2 – Matrix Mails.

Ya know, I really wish I’d gone for the “Lifetime Gold” membership when I joined back in March 2009. You can bet when it comes time to renew my subscription, I’ll opt for the $60 gold lifetime membership. Matrix Mails has been kicking butt since 2002, and is a great place to convert your earnings to advertising. Of course you can also just simply cash out, but what fun would that be?

No. 3 – WordLinx

When a Paid to Click program has been around for over six years you know they are doing something right. WordLinx not only continues to provide a great PTC experience but always strives to give it’s members more benefits and improve month after month. This year we saw a new upgrade ( the $59 lifetime “Verified Plus” ) as well as a slew of additional changes that enhance both it’s members earnings potential while maintaining an awesome advertising venue. WordLinx just seems to get better and better.

No. 4 – NeoBux

I know most of you are wondering why NeoBux wasn’t at the top of my list at number one. Especially since I’ve earned more from NeoBux than any other opportunity this year. To be honest, it always concerns me when the daily ads come from the admin instead of people like me, the members who advertise. Obviously, the admin / owner knows what he’s doing and is one of the smartest in the industry. Still, I’ll keep NeoBux at number four this year, but probably spend more time promoting it than any other program. I’ll also spend less time messing around trying to manage rented referrals. I’m sure with a bit more effort and attention I can come up with a formula and strategy to maximize my rented referrals, but to be honest, I think the average person will end up losing money on rented referrals. I’ll stick with using half my rented earnings to manage that particular part of NeoBux and focus more on my direct referrals. It’s no secret that the referrals we rent are not real people, but bots. I’m not saying don’t rent, I’m just saying be careful and read the forum for different strategies.

No. 5 Link Grand

Link Grand is very new for me. I haven’t promoted yet, I haven’t cashed out and I’ve yet to use it for advertising. So why did it make the list of my top five PTC programs? Simple. It’s, um.. well “Simple”. Not a lot to think about here. No upgrades, no rented referrals or buying referrals to worry about. It’s just a very easy to manage program. Get paid $0.003 per ad viewed ( no more, no less ), earn 10% of your referrals ad purchases, and also 30% of your ref earnings. Cash out is $5 and you can even convert your earnings into ad credits ( which I love doing ). There, that’s it. Nothing to really think about. Keep It Simple Stupid. Obviously the money is in the referrals, I’ll run some initial ads this month and see if I can’t get a few dozen active members earning me a couple extra dollars a day.

… and that’s it guys. I hope everyone made it out of 2009 in one piece.

Phil ( philsfault ) Ames

On a final note. What else did I learn 2009. Well, I learned NOT to be a salesman and to only endorse products, services, and programs that I believe in and use. So you probably won’t see me pimping something just for a commission.

I’ve learned the power of branding and being a person first and an affiliate link second. Most of you know that I’m a very approachable kinda guy. I spend a lot of time replying to emails and answering questions. I put my picture and name on everything I endorse. I’m becoming well known ( at least my thumb is ) and the last thing I want to be known for, is the guy who hawked a crappy program that went belly up a couple months later. Although, I’ve done exactly that in the past, I’ve learned my lesson’s and am better now. Honestly =P
