Another NeoBux Update ( I know I know, Again! )

February 24th, 2010

I swear I have way more to talk about and share than just ClixSense and NeoBux, but they have both been hot topics the last couple weeks. So Yeah, this wasn’t the post I intended to write but, here ya go..

So it’s at the point in the night where I know I’m not going to be very productive. After spending a couple hours replying to emails, comments and reading other bloggers ramblings ( BoneHead ), I’m tired, but feeling the need to quickly put something together before bed.

Whenever I write a post about NeoBux, whether it’s the main topic or just a casual mention, the majority of the emails or comments I receive basically express the same thoughts.

NeoBux is Great but I need a strategy for renting referrals.”

“It’s impossible to pick up referrals because everyone and their dog is advertising it.”

My reply to the rental thang is always; “Try not to use much of your own money when playing with rentals” and “Use your earnings to manage you rentals instead.” Honestly, I can’t endorse any strategy other than that, so… um, yeah. Good luck.

As far as picking up new direct referrals for NeoBux, or any popular program for that matter. Remember that everyday, thousands of people like you and I hit the internet looking for ways to supplement their income, and make money. I’m only assuming. So although a lot of the usual crowd and veterans have probably already joined ( whats hot ), theirs always a “Hot” group of new folks ready to join your NeoBux downline, or whatever your promoting. Getting frustrated and feeling like we’re wasting your time is natural. So don’t feel like your alone. Try new things and learn from others ( wink wink ). Or just give up and find a new hobby. I’ve heard Solitaire is a great way to pass the time.

Anyways, I always have that itch to spend money on advertising but I’ve learned to control what I spend, and use mostly (mostly) my earnings from other programs. Like on Sunday when I spent $24 on an ad promoting NeoBux on ClixSense. I re-ran my previous ad that I talked about in the last post, and just to illustrate my point that I mentioned above, I managed to wrangle up 26 new referrals.

Now I usually don’t advertise on Sundays. It’s not a religious thing, it’s just that a lot of times my ads won’t actually post until Monday. I hate that because then I’m then lumped in with everyone else’s ads and I feel like I don’t have the full attention of the clicker ( potential new referral ). ClixSense has been approving ads more frequently and several times a day on Sunday. So I went with advertising on Sunday and it payed off. Yay Me!!

Going to bed now, not even going to check stats.

Night all

One Year with Traffic Splash

January 29th, 2010

Okay, so a couple years ago I was a pretty big guy. I worked out at Worlds Gym and had a pretty decent routine going. “Worlds” had child care for my kids, all the machines, heavy dumbbells and barbells that I liked. Then one day. Actually it wasn’t “One Day”, it was over the course of a couple months. Things started to change. The child care ended, renovation crews started taking over, and the “Please Pardon Our Dust” notices became an annoying part of my workout. Not a problem, I was in-visioning a bigger, better and more bad ass gym. Boy was I wrong. My gym turned into a senior center. Umm, I mean, my gym turned into “Planet Fitness”. A judgment free zone where I wasn’t a loud to grunt, exert too much energy, or accidentally drop an 80lb dumbbell. All my machines, heavy dumbbells, barbells and **gasp**, bench’s were gone. No squat racks or “hammer strength” machines. Just rows of cookie cutter wuss type exercise contraptions, lots of treadmills, and a big notice on the wall that more or less said that: BodyBuilder Type Folks weren’t allowed.

So I quit that day and joined a private gym where cursing and grunting and big water bottles were accepted. I was happy again, although I missed what I had at Worlds Gym.

Anyways, to make a long story longer. I quit working out a few months ago ( for various reasons ) and have since removed that enormous chip from my shoulder and joined “Planet Fitness” this week. I’m still not happy with the changes and I’ll always miss what was, but honestly, it was time to get myself back in the gym. Even if it means I won’t have all the equipment and free vocal range ( One more Rep! You did better Last time! Don’t stop now!!! ) that I once had when I was part of a real gym. R.I.P. Worlds Gym as I knew you.

Lets face it, I’m getting older and I’ll probably never bench press 275 again. So if the need to grunt and drop dumbbells anytime soon comes up then I’ll move on. In the meantime, getting back to half of my studly ( whatever ) self is exciting and it’s nice to see a lot of my fellow gym rats again.

On to today’s post =P

Traffic Splash

I wrote a similar post early last year where I talked about my early results with Traffic Splash. What I wanted to do in this post is reveal where my 178 Traffic Splash referrals came from and talk a bit about traffic exchanges ( just a bit ). Since the number one reason why most of us fail at affiliate marketing is because we can’t bring in referrals to build our down lines and / or earn us commissions, I thought I’d share, once again, and use Traffic Splash as my example.

Forty Five ( 45 ) Referrals came from WordLinx. Early on I probably spent too much of my own money to advertise on WordLinx, but when I look at the extra credits and commissions I received this year, I’m pretty happy. WordLinx is an awesome place to advertise whatever your promoting, just be careful and set an ad budget if you must spend money on. I also don’t cash out anymore, I convert my earnings to advertise other opportunities, this blog, and umm, yeah Traffic Splash as well.

Twenty Two ( 22 ) Referrals ended up in my Traffic Splash downline via ClixSense. ClixSense is by far one of my favorite programs and a fantastic place to earn and advertise. I mix converting my earnings to ad credits with a bit of real cash for my promotional needs.

Fifty Five ( 55 ) Referrals for being a Pro Member on Traffic Splash. Although I’ve only seen a few random referrals in the last couple months. I was used to seeing new team members added to my account every week. I think a lot had to do with being a more active promoter at the time, I vaguely remember a couple contests a few months ago. Regardless, I think you should look at this number as a best case scenario.

Hits4Pay via Rent-a-List ( 17 ). Oh gosh, I forget what I spent on this ad for Traffic Splash. I remember being a bit upset by this number, since advertising on Hits4Pay ( Rent-a-List ) has always produced amazing results for me. Seventeen referrals might sound like good results for a one time ad, but really I’ve done better with other programs like ClixSense and NeoBux ( can anyone say 10% response? )

This Blog of Course ( 20 ). As I push forward into my second year with “You Will Not get Rich from this Blog”, things just keep getting better and better. I continue to improve, learn and although I have moments when I don’t write for awhile. When I do I’m noticing that more and more of you are paying attention. So THANKS!!

So where did the other 19 Traffic Splash referrals come from? Well instead of listing ten more sites and making this post longer than it needs to be. Lets just say that I throw banners and links up in all sorts of places; safelists, other PTC’s, Traffic Exchanges.. blah blah blah.

Now lets look at what this all means.

In one year I’ve pulled in some commissions, my credits earned per day fluctuate around 100, but most importantly I’ve learned that Traffic Exchanges are more than just a way to earn traffic. Traffic Exchanges are a huge community and a fantastic way to meet new people, study what others are doing and how they are doing it. Traffic Splash will remain my number one Traffic Exchange this year for a lot of different reasons. The owner Paul Kinder is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet, he sets the bar when it comes to daily rewards and contests, and of course as I always say ( and mean it!! ) Nobody Pays Faster than Paul!

Now a little note about traffic exchanges. DON’T SUBMIT YOUR USUAL AFFILIATE LINKS!! They simply wont work. Creating your own splash pages is your key to success. If your not getting the results that you hope for.. CHANGE AND KEEP TRYING.

I’m always tweaking and playing around with different Splash Page ideas. I give them a fair run ( usually a couple thousand views ) and then tweak ‘em some more. Keep it simple and don’t write long sales pages ( capture pages ) and surf ‘em on Traffic Exchanges. Few people surfing exchanges care about what you have to offer, so you have to grab their attention with a short and to the point splash page.

Check out my post: “How to Create and use Simple Splash Pages”

“My Latest Splash Page for this blog”

That’s all for me today. Keep in mind that although this post is about my results on Traffic Splash, I use the above programs to promote all my favorite programs.

P.S. Lynn reminded me that I’m currently ranked No. 6 out of 121 awesome blogs over at
Traffic Taxis. I told Lynn that I’d be at No.1 in six months. So hook a blogger up and cruise on over and move me up the ranks. Oh and the owner of
Traffic Taxis, David Foley, he’s a pretty crazy guy ( I’m just saying ).

Going to bed now. Night all!

Advertising on ClixSense and Sad News with a Happy Ending

November 17th, 2009

Philsfault age 5 or 6.

Philsfault age 5 or 6.

I can’t tell you what a crazy month this has been. You know when you take on too many projects and your brain is just bursting with fantastic ideas? It’s hard to focus on just one thing to do, so you ( I ) end up not doing much at all. Yeah, that’s where I’ve been this month. Not that I haven’t accomplished anything, if anything I’ve accomplished too much. Unfortunately what I do doesn’t help you guys much if I’m not producing new material for this blog and showing you the what, when and hows. No apologies, you guys know me by now.

Anyways, in case anyone was wondering what I looked like when I was younger, here ya go. I was actually wondering that myself for the last twenty five years. That’s how long it’s been since I’ve seen any pictures of myself in my younger years. Now I have proof that my kids look like me ( I was worried for awhile there ). I think I look like opie, but without the freckles

So where did I find this picture after all these years? Apparently my first step dad ( Bill ), my brother and sisters father was good at holding on to some of our earlier possessions. Unfortunately he passed away a few weeks ago and my little sister had to travel from Oklahoma to take care of his estate ( err.. trailer ). Fortunately, my sister, her boyfriend and I got to spend some time together and reminisce. It was probably the first time in fifteen years my sis and I spent more than a couple hours in the same room. So it was nice to sit up ’til three in the morning drinking beer and laughing at our very dysfunctional upbringing.

So let me be a bit corny and dedicate this post to Bill Cobb. I miss you ( step ) dad. I wish we could have sat in Denny’s one last time and talked about business, photography and Vietnam.

Okay, now that the mushy sad part of this post is out of the way. Lets talk Advertising. It’s something I do everyday. Whether through safelists, traffic exchanges, PTC advertising, or wherever… I do it, and I’m everywhere. It’s one of those frustrating but necessary evils we take part in everyday while trying to someday reach financial independence online. It’s how we pick up referrals, earn commissions and meet new team members. If we’re not careful and to greedy and desperate, it’s how we lose a lot of money. Trust me, I’ve made more mistakes than a millipede has legs, BUT I’VE NEVER GIVEN UP!!. I’m constantly learning and refining what I do, because I will be an online success story someday and hopefully I will take a few you guys with me. In fact, it took me six years to realize that the only way I’m going to be successful online is by making others successful as well. Trust me, your worth nothing to me if you give up. So you know I’m always here to answer question and give support. Many of you already know this and you can imagine how many emails and messages I receive everyday from people asking for help or taking the time to say Hi. Which leads into today’s little post.

One of the main questions I get asked daily is, “Dude, how do you pick up referrals?”. Of course this is not one of those questions that I can simply reply with “Easy, just click this button”. So today I am going to use everyone’s favorite Paid to Click ( PTC ) Program ClixSense, and show you two different ways to advertise whatever it is your promoting. ClixSense is just one of the many places I advertise. I’m actually also working on a page for the sidebar showing video examples of pretty much all the resources I use to bring in referrals ( call it an Online Success Guide if you will ).

In the first video I show you how to convert your earnings on ClixSense into ad credits. I used My Instant Biz in this example.
I know I haven’t talked about My Instant Biz yet, I’m still working on the post ( yup even going to show you guys some results and money!

In this second video I’m going to spend some money and place an ad on ClixSense. As I mentioned in both videos, please don’t spend any money that you can not comfortably afford to lose!! Very important. If you feel the need to spend money on advertising, use your earnings from other programs or at the very least, set a realistic ad budget. I can’t stress discretion enough.. Desperation should not be a factor in your advertising. So don’t think your going to solve your financial problems by spending money you can’t comfortably afford to lose… it rarely works in your favor or produces the results you were hoping for ( read my post “Focus = Money?” )

That’s all for me today. I’m scheming up some really great stuff these days and I have soooo much to talk about and share, but I’m going to save it for another post.

Take care..
