My thoughts on the NeoBux Changes

April 9th, 2011 18 comments

Ya know, I really don’t spend a lot of time hanging out in forums. I’ll occasionally pop in to GetPaidForum or whatever forum is provided with whatever program I’m using. To be honest though, there’s this whole “not enough time in the day” thing going on with me right now, so “hanging out” anywhere is not something I’m doing much of these days.

Anyways. I did happen to glance at the NeoBux forum a couple weeks ago when the admin announced a few changes. I read a few pages of concerned comments and then moved on to something more productive. Sheesh, you’d think it was the end of the world.

If I remember correctly the big change was the loss of admin ad’s for standard ( non ungraded ) members. This would explain why my earnings dropped a couple dollars per day.

I think another big change involved rental rates or terms or something. Since I don’t mess with renting referrals on ANY site, I’m not affected.

So what are my thoughts on the changes over at NeoBux?

First, I’m always nervous when a site has more admin ads than advertisers ads to click on. So I’m actually happy that these are now limited; even though my earnings have decreased.

Second. I didn’t think I was a big fan of micro ads or mini ads… but the more I think about it, it’s actually really cool. It gives pretty much everyone a chance to play around with advertising with minimal cost, and I’ve noticed a big increase in these types of ads. Less admin ads, more “other than admin ads”. Love it!

Thirdly ( is thirdly even a word? ). Changes to Rental terms. I honestly don’t care. Since I don’t encourage renting referrals or rent referrals myself I didn’t bother reading any of the changes regarding this.

Honestly, I think the Admin is one smart cookie. I don’t always have to agree with him, much like I don’t have to always agree with my boss’s decisions at my real job. At the end of the day however, I’m getting paid and both, my boss’s at work and the admin over at NeoBux are doing what they have to do keep things flowing smoothly and maintaining a sustainable business.

NeoPoints? Okay so I’m going to be a bit hypocritical here. Neopoints are one of the new features at NeoBux. We earn them by doing what we are already doing; clicking our ads. Although the value is yet to be determined, if the option to use these to rent referrals comes up I’ll damn sure be doing just that. If it raises my daily earnings just a few cents ( even if it’s for a brief amount of time ), I’m game. This is a feature I’m excited about.

So is NeoBux turning into a SCAM site? Well gee, lets think for a second. The admin has announced changes and continues to pay on a daily basis. Just because you and or I might not be happy with the changes does not make NeoBux or any site for that matter a scam.

I have a real problem with what peoples perception of the word SCAM means. If the admin of NeoBux or any other site collects money from it’s members or asks it’s members to perform certain actions and has no intention of paying.. then yes, that’s a scam.

I’m voting for a 30 hour day.

Just wanted to give you guys a quick update.

Over the last week I’ve received a couple comments and quite a few emails wondering why I’m not writing more or from people looking forward to my next post. These are the sort of messages that get me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside, because it lets me know that people are actually reading this blog and looking forward to what I have to say.

I really don’t want to start every new post with, “Okay, so I’m a bit behind” or “Sorry for not writing in awhile”. So I’ll just get it out of the way now…

Life is busier than it’s ever been. I won’t get into my whole daily schedule but lets just say that my day usually winds down at ten at night with me sitting on the floor folding laundry while watching UFC or Food Network. After that depends on how tired I am. Usually though it’s me sitting in front of the ‘puter with a beer ( or three ) clicking my ads, answering email and trying to get an ad or two up before I reluctantly call it a night.

For those of you with a full time job, kids, yard work blah blah blah.. you might agree with me. We need 30 hour days.

I’ll try to get caught up this weekend. I have three new posts and a new page in the works ( sorta ), and I’m a bit behind in comment reply’s and emails.

Could be worse. I could have nothing to do.

Hope everyone is having a swell week.
