Advertising on ClixSense and Sad News with a Happy Ending

Philsfault age 5 or 6.

I can’t tell you what a crazy month this has been. You know when you take on too many projects and your brain is just bursting with fantastic ideas? It’s hard to focus on just one thing to do, so you ( I ) end up not doing much at all. Yeah, that’s where I’ve been this month. Not that I haven’t accomplished anything, if anything I’ve accomplished too much. Unfortunately what I do doesn’t help you guys much if I’m not producing new material for this blog and showing you the what, when and hows. No apologies, you guys know me by now.

Anyways, in case anyone was wondering what I looked like when I was younger, here ya go. I was actually wondering that myself for the last twenty five years. That’s how long it’s been since I’ve seen any pictures of myself in my younger years. Now I have proof that my kids look like me ( I was worried for awhile there ). I think I look like opie, but without the freckles

So where did I find this picture after all these years? Apparently my first step dad ( Bill ), my brother and sisters father was good at holding on to some of our earlier possessions. Unfortunately he passed away a few weeks ago and my little sister had to travel from Oklahoma to take care of his estate ( err.. trailer ). Fortunately, my sister, her boyfriend and I got to spend some time together and reminisce. It was probably the first time in fifteen years my sis and I spent more than a couple hours in the same room. So it was nice to sit up ’til three in the morning drinking beer and laughing at our very dysfunctional upbringing.

So let me be a bit corny and dedicate this post to Bill Cobb. I miss you ( step ) dad. I wish we could have sat in Denny’s one last time and talked about business, photography and Vietnam.

Okay, now that the mushy sad part of this post is out of the way. Lets talk Advertising. It’s something I do everyday. Whether through safelists, traffic exchanges, PTC advertising, or wherever… I do it, and I’m everywhere. It’s one of those frustrating but necessary evils we take part in everyday while trying to someday reach financial independence online. It’s how we pick up referrals, earn commissions and meet new team members. If we’re not careful and to greedy and desperate, it’s how we lose a lot of money. Trust me, I’ve made more mistakes than a millipede has legs, BUT I’VE NEVER GIVEN UP!!. I’m constantly learning and refining what I do, because I will be an online success story someday and hopefully I will take a few you guys with me. In fact, it took me six years to realize that the only way I’m going to be successful online is by making others successful as well. Trust me, your worth nothing to me if you give up. So you know I’m always here to answer question and give support. Many of you already know this and you can imagine how many emails and messages I receive everyday from people asking for help or taking the time to say Hi. Which leads into today’s little post.

One of the main questions I get asked daily is, “Dude, how do you pick up referrals?”. Of course this is not one of those questions that I can simply reply with “Easy, just click this button”. So today I am going to use everyone’s favorite Paid to Click ( PTC ) Program ClixSense, and show you two different ways to advertise whatever it is your promoting. ClixSense is just one of the many places I advertise. I’m actually also working on a page for the sidebar showing video examples of pretty much all the resources I use to bring in referrals ( call it an Online Success Guide if you will ).

In the first video I show you how to convert your earnings on ClixSense into ad credits. I used My Instant Biz in this example.
I know I haven’t talked about My Instant Biz yet, I’m still working on the post ( yup even going to show you guys some results and money!

In this second video I’m going to spend some money and place an ad on ClixSense. As I mentioned in both videos, please don’t spend any money that you can not comfortably afford to lose!! Very important. If you feel the need to spend money on advertising, use your earnings from other programs or at the very least, set a realistic ad budget. I can’t stress discretion enough.. Desperation should not be a factor in your advertising. So don’t think your going to solve your financial problems by spending money you can’t comfortably afford to lose… it rarely works in your favor or produces the results you were hoping for ( read my post “Focus = Money?” )

That’s all for me today. I’m scheming up some really great stuff these days and I have soooo much to talk about and share, but I’m going to save it for another post.

Take care..

Phil ( philsfault ) Ames
